Welping Launches SFA Series Portable Socket Fusion Alignment Tools
Welping has introduced the new SFA Series Portable Socket Fusion Alignment Tools, designed to help installers keep plastic pipes and fittings stable during socket fusion welding.
In socket fusion welding, heating time, insertion depth, and joining movement all matter. But in real jobsite work, one very practical issue is often overlooked: whether the pipe and fitting can stay properly aligned during heating and joining.
For small pipe sizes, hand operation may be enough. But when the pipe size becomes larger, or when many joints need to be completed repeatedly, holding the pipe and fitting by hand is not always easy. After heating, the heater needs to be removed quickly, and the pipe and fitting must be joined in the correct direction. Any shaking, tilting, or unstable pushing may affect the welding result.
The Welping SFA Series is designed for this kind of work.
A Practical Tool for More Stable Socket Fusion Welding
The SFA Series is not an automatic welding machine. It is a simple and practical alignment tool.
Its main function is to hold the pipe and fitting in position, so the operator does not need to rely completely on hand control during heating and joining. With the pipe and fitting fixed in the clamps, the operation becomes easier to manage, especially for repeated welding work.
Two Models for Different Pipe Sizes
The SFA Series is available in two models:
SFA-63: For 20–63mm pipes.
SFA-110: For 75–110mm pipes.
The two models are designed for different socket fusion size ranges, so users can choose the suitable model according to their common pipe sizes.
Adjustable Clamps for Pipe and Fitting
The tool uses adjustable clamps to hold the pipe and fitting.
The clamping width can be adjusted by the black star-shaped knobs. After the pipe and fitting are placed into the clamps, the operator can tighten the knobs to hold them securely.
This helps reduce shaking and movement during the welding process. For installers who need to make the same type of joint many times, this stable clamping can make the work easier and more consistent.
Handwheel-Controlled Joining Movement
One key feature of the tool is the handwheel-controlled axial movement.
Instead of pushing the pipe and fitting together only by hand, the operator can turn the handwheel to move the two sides toward each other in a straighter and more controlled way.
This is especially useful for larger socket fusion sizes, where the fitting is heavier and the joining movement is harder to control by hand.
For Workbench and Jobsite Use
The tool can be used on a workbench for pipe preparation and prefabrication work.
For suitable in-position welding work, the base can also be removed. This makes the tool more flexible for different installation and maintenance conditions.
Suitable Materials
The SFA Series can be used for common plastic piping materials, including:
PPR, PE, PP, PB, and PVDF.
Socket fusion heaters and heating sockets are supplied separately and can be selected according to the pipe material and pipe size.
A Simple Tool for a Real Jobsite Need
Socket fusion welding does not always require complicated equipment. But stable clamping and better alignment can make the process much easier, especially when working with larger sizes or repeated joints.
