Operation Guide | How Drag Pressure Is Read on FX vs. A / A Pro Hydraulic Units
Drag pressure is the pressure generated when the machine moves the pipe forward before the two pipe ends come into contact.
On A and A Pro hydraulic units, drag pressure is generated while the pipe is moving. Once the control lever is released and the pipe stops, the pressure gauge drops back to 0.
This means the operator needs to read the pressure while the pipe is still moving.
On the FX hydraulic unit, the pressure remains on the gauge after the pipe stops moving.
This allows the operator to read the drag pressure more easily after the movement has stopped.
In simple terms:
A / A Pro: Read the pressure while the pipe is moving.
FX: Move the pipe, stop, then read the pressure.
