To address this, large-diameter models in the FX series are equipped with an anti-slip pad system designed to improve clamping stability throughout the operation.
A Practical Approach to Reducing Slippage
The anti-slip pads work by increasing the friction between the clamp blocks and the pipe surface.
With a larger effective contact area, the pipe is less likely to shift during movement or pressure holding.
This is not a change to the welding procedure itself, but a structural enhancement that helps maintain stability under standard operating conditions.
Adapting to Real-World Pipe Conditions
In actual projects, pipes are not always perfectly round or within ideal tolerances.
Slight ovality or dimensional variation is common.
The anti-slip pads on the FX series are designed to be adjustable, allowing operators to fine-tune their position within a certain range.
This makes it easier to match the pipe surface and improves adaptability when working with non-standard pipes.
Even Load Distribution with Multi-Point Contact
On the FX1000, for example, each machine is equipped with 96 anti-slip pads.
Rather than adding unnecessary complexity, this configuration ensures that clamping force is distributed more evenly around the pipe.
With multiple contact points, the risk of localized slipping or uneven loading is reduced—an important factor when working with large-diameter pipes.
Designed for Large-Diameter Applications
The anti-slip pad system is currently applied to large-diameter models within the FX series.
The configuration shown here comes from an FX1000, where the pads are arranged closely to form a continuous contact surface.
This setup is specifically developed for large-size welding conditions and is not used across all machine sizes.
