ISO 21307:2017 Single Low-Pressure Butt Fusion Calculator
Field construction, technical briefing, and quality inspection aid
WORKING PARAMETERS — NOT AN OFFICIAL COPY OF THE STANDARDThis tool is an auxiliary worksheet based on ISO 21307:2017 single low-pressure fusion jointing and the cited equipment guidance. It is not an official reproduction of the standard. Before field use, confirm the pipe material, machine, nominal wall thickness, ambient temperature, and approved welding procedure specification (WPS).
Parameter selection
PN* is a source index only, not a verified pressure-rating table.
Displayed t5 applies only at 23 ± 2°C.
Advanced settings
Cooling under pressure is referenced to 23 ± 2°C. For other temperatures, use the adjustment required by the approved WPS; this tool does not extrapolate cooling time.
Core working parameters
Current machine detail table
Default en is ROUND(dn / SDR, 2) for calculation preparation only. Confirm the nominal pipe dimension.
ISO 21307:2017 Single Low-Pressure Operation Card
Field confirmation: Pipe material, nominal wall, clean pipe ends, alignment, measured Pdrag, heater temperature, ambient conditions, and the approved WPS have been checked.
Heat soak uses the lowest contact pressure from 0 to Pdrag. t3/t4 are maximum values. t5 is the minimum cooling time under pressure at 23 ± 2°C. Out-of-machine cooling is determined by the approved WPS.
Calculation aid only. ISO 21307:2017 single low-pressure procedure. Do not transfer values from another fusion procedure or standard.
Rules and field notes
Interfacial pressure: 0.17 ± 0.02 MPa plus measured Pdrag.
Heat soak pressure: lowest pressure maintaining contact, from 0 to Pdrag.
Heat-soak time is a range: 12en to 15en.
t3 and t4 are maximum values; t5 is a minimum value.
Cooling under pressure shown only for 23 ± 2°C. Other temperatures are governed by the approved WPS.
“Per WPS” is not zero minutes; further cooling may be required before loading or rough handling.
