Understanding the Frame Design of FX250 and FX315 in the FUSINGX FX Series

Dec 1,2025
For butt fusion welding machines, the frame structure directly affects stability, alignment, and long-term reliability. Within the FUSINGX FX Series, the FX250 and FX315 use a frame design that is unique to these models, offering advantages specifically suited for medium-diameter HDPE pipe welding.
Round-Edge Steel Tube Frame — Exclusive to FX250 & FX315
Both FX250 and FX315 adopt a round-edge 90° steel tube frame combined with welded side plates.
This structure is exclusive to the FX Series and used only on models below 315 mm.
Why this design works well for medium diameters
· Steel tubes offer good torsional resistance
· Welded side plates increase overall rigidity
· The structure remains stable during heating, changeover, and joining
· Ideal for frequent field use in 250–315 mm pipe ranges
For medium-size machines, this balance of weight and rigidity helps ensure consistent welding alignment without adding unnecessary mass.
Why Larger Models Use Thick Steel Plates Instead
For models such as FX355 and FX630, the frame requirements change significantly.
These larger machines use a single piece of thickened steel plate instead of steel tubing.
Reasoning behind the change:
· Larger pipes require higher clamping force
· Thick steel plates distribute stress more evenly
· The structure maintains accuracy under heavier loads
· Better suited for long, high-pressure welding cycles
This is an engineering choice based on load, torque, and frame stiffness requirements—not a downgrade or upgrade, simply the correct structure for the correct size.

Key Advantages
FX250 / FX315
Round-edge steel tube + welded plates
High torsional stability, balanced structure, ideal for medium diameters
FX355+
Thickened single steel plate
Greater load capacity, higher rigidity for heavy-duty welding
Consistent FX Series Engineering
Although the frame form differs by model size, all FX machines follow the same engineering principles:
· Stable guide movement
· Reliable clamping system
· Integrated hydraulic and electrical design
· 1Durable construction for long-term field use
Each machine is assembled and tested to ensure consistent performance across the full FX lineup.
